Abstract

Diverse α-methyl-substituted phosphonylphosphinates (PCPCX) are accessible from a protected, pentafluorophenylsulfonated phosphonylphosphinate via nucleophilic displacement. The utility of this route is demonstrated with several nitrogen nucleophiles.
