Abstract

Abstract Selective hydrolysis of pentafluorobenzotrichloride has been studied in the presence of a catalytic amount of iron (III) chloride. The main products are pentafluorobenzoyl chloride, pentafluorobenzoyl fluoride, and 4-chlorotetrafluorobenzoyl chloride.
