Abstract

BY MARTIN SEIDMAN AND KARL PAUL LINK 3-(a-Acetonylbenzyl)-4-hydroxycoumarin was condensed with benzyl alcohol, allyl alcohol, tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, ethylene chlorohydrin, ethylene bromohydrin and trimethylene chlorohydrin in the presence of hydrogen chloride to form the corresponding cyclic ketals.
