Abstract

Summary: A seven-step synthesis of (f)-& an advanced, common intermediate for construction of the dioxabicyclononane units of both tirandamycin and streptolydigin from && is described(Scheme 1). Conversion of 3 to the fully developed fragment of tirandamycin is also reported.
