Abstract

Degradation of the I IC-labeled propadiene demonstrated that about two-thirds of the propadiene was center labeled, but the other one-third had IiC atoms on the end.i8,'9 Judging from this, and the expectation that there should be certain similarities in the reactions of C and Si atoms, it is likely that part of the SCPD* yields are also formed via a CH insertion mechanism.
