Abstract
During earlier studies' of the interaction of sulfur with tetrafluoroethylene to produce octafluoro-1, 4-dithiaiie (I), it was observed that polysulfides mere also formed, apparently as intermediates to the dithiaiie. Further investigation of this reaction has now resulted in the characterization of several unusual cyclic and linear polysulfides of tetrafluoroethylene.
