Abstract

Abstract Two-and four-carbon homologation of aldehyde is described, which is based on the AgClO 4-catalyzed addition of zirconcene complexes, derived from hydrozirconation of 1- ethoxyethyne (1) and (Z)-1-methoxy-1-buten-3-yne (2) with Cp 2 Zr (H) Cl, followed by acidic hydrolysis.
