Abstract

We wish to provide a solution to a long-pending problem of developing a direct and satisfactory procedure for the tertiary alkyl-alkynyl coupling. In our study directed toward the synthesis of terpenoids and related compounds, it became desirable to be able to introduce a quaternary carbon in a position adjacent to an alkyne group.
