Results Since only a few of the requisite aryldialkylmethines are commercially available, literature procedures were generally followed for their preparation. Several of the hydrocarbons, namely, pt-butylcumene, isopropylmesitylene, and 5-isopropyl-m-xylene, were readily obtained by Friedel-Crafts alkylation.
