Abstract

Use of polyhalogenated olefins for the incorporation of fluorine into organic molecules and numerous reactions involving their use as either nucleophilic and electrophilic synthons have been described. In particular, nucleophilic additions to fluorinated olefins by aryl,'alkyl: and allyl3 anions, as well as sulfur and other nucleophiles: have been reported.
