Abstract: The palladium-catalyzed coupling of alkenyl iodides with alkynylstannanes takes place under mild conditions, stereospecifically and chemoselectively, to give high yields of conjugated enynes. The reaction of (E)-or (Z)-vinyl iodides with alkynyltrimethylstannanes in the presence of catalytic amounts of bis (acetonitrile)(dichloro) palladium (II) is complete within a few minutes at 22 OC, providing geometrically pure products.
