Abstract

Photolysis of gallylene-bridged diiron complexes [Cp'Fe (CO) 2] 2 (μ-GaMes)(Cp'= η-C5Me5 (1a), η-C5H5 (1b); Mes= 2, 4, 6-trimethylphenyl) in toluene afforded the trans isomer of the gallylene-and carbonyl-bridged diiron complex [(η-C5Me5) Fe (CO)] 2 (μ-CO)(μ-GaMes)(2a) and a mixture of cis and trans isomers of [(η-C5H5) Fe (CO)] 2 (μ-CO)(μ-GaMes)(2b), respectively.
