Abstract

In view of this situation, we have undertaken the synthesis of a solid borirene, upon which to perform an X-ray crystallographic analysis and thus to determine the bond distances in the threemembered ring. Here we wish to report that we have synthesized trimesitylborirene (2) by the photorearrangement of dimesityl-(mesitylethyny1) borane (1) Io and have determined the structure of 2 by X-ray crystallography.
