Abstract

Three routes to spirocyclic derivatives of griseofulvin were investigated:(a) Condensation of appropriate coumaranones and dibromoalkanes,(b) ester syntheses from 2: 2-di-substituted coumaranones, and (c) a modification of the Dean and Robertson synthesis of usnolic acid
