Abstract
High pressure (about 200 MPa), which was realized by freezing water in a sealed autoclave, has been successfully applied to a high-yield Michael reaction of alcohols and α, β- unsaturated ketones in the presence of a catalytic amount of DMAP and LiClO 4. Only a moderate yield was obtained under atmospheric pressure.
