Abstract

Eleven imidazole diselenides derived from the naturally occurring family of antioxidants, the ovothiols, were synthetised by cyclisation of selenoamides with trimethylsilyltrifluoromethanesulfonate or refluxing of cyanoamines in a selenium/sodium borohydride mixture.
