Abstract
A combination of conventional electrophilic aromatic substitution reactions and low- temperature ortho-directed lithiations has been used in the efficient synthesis of some novel highly substituted benzene derivatives containing alkoxy, alkyl, bromo, cyano, fluoro and iodo functions.
