Abstract
The course of thermal decomposition of a series of 1, 1-dialkyl-2-benzenesulfonylhydrazine sodium salts has been found to be highly solvent dependent. Tetrazenes are the major products when the solvent is tetraglyme, but rearrangement to hydrazones occurs competitively with or to the exclusion of tetrazene formation with diethylene glycol the solvent.
