Abstract

5-Amino-3-benzoyivinyl-2-(2-thienyl)-A4-1, 3, 4-thiadiazoline (IIIa). To a solution of 0.47 g (25 mmole) of 2-thiophenaldehyde (II) in 10 ml of acetonitrile was added dropwise with stirring a solution of 0.33 g (25 mmole) of benzoylaeetylene (I). Stirring was continued at room temperature for 3 h, and the solid which separated was filtered off and recrystallized from acetonitrile to give 0.75 g (94%) of (Ilia).
