Abstract

Radical dediazoniation of o-(2-propenyloxy)-and o-(2-propynyloxy) benzenediazonium ions in the presence of β-cyclodextrin gives selectively dihydrobenzofurans under N 2, while hydroxymethylated dihydrobenzofurans and 3-hydroxymethyl-benzofuran under air, respectively.
