Abstract

As substrates we used lactams of e-aminocaproic acid (IIa), g-aminobutyric acid (IIb), and also N-methylpyrrolidone (IIc). The reactions were carried out under inert atmosphere at 903100oC within 638 h using lactams in 335-fold excess. The isolation and purification of compounds IIIa! c obtained was done by vacuum distillation followed by recrystallization from 2-propanol.
