Abstract

RICHARD BUBTLES was the younger son of the late Alderman Richard Burtlea of Manchester. He was educated at Manchester Grammar School, and at the College of Technology, Manchester. He obtained the BSc. Tech. degree in July, 1921, being placed in the Grst (Honours) division, and was awarded a Manchester Education Committea Research Scholarship.
