Abstract
Indolaldehydes are crucial intermediates for the synthesis of several indole alkaloids. 1 While indole-3-carboxaldehyde can be prepared easily under conventional Vilsmeier formylation conditions, aldehydes at other positions of the indole ring are not easily accessible.
