Abstract

The general approach to the preparation of the title compounds (see Scheme I) was based, as were the examples of S-'Laminoethyl dithiocarbonates already mentioned, on the dithiocarbonate synthesis developed by Cramhall and Elliott4 and involved concurrent hydrolytic ring cleavage and ester hydrolysis of the alkyl w-(2-thiazolin-2-ylthio) alkanoates (IV).
