Abstract
The new organogallium (1) compound [Ga (CHzCMes) l, has been prepared by the reduction of Ga (CH2CMes) zCl by using either sodium or lithium with naphthalene in THF. When the reagenta were combined at-78 OC, a yellow intermediate, a neopentylgallium (II1) derivative of dihydronaphthalene C& [G~(CH~ CM~ S) ZIZ-~ MC~(M= Li, Na) was formed.
