Abstract: The reaction of a-lithio phosphonamide derivatives with aldehydes and ketones affords P-hydroxy phosphonamides by carbonyl addition in excellent yields. Thermal decomposition of these adducts in benzene or tolu-ene solution at reflux leads to olefins by elimination of the elements of the corresponding phosphoric acid amide. &Hydroxy phosphonamides can also be synthesized by reduction of@-keto phosphonamides, which ...
