Abstract

In 1915 Friedlbder and Littner'stated that the products of nitration of 0-acetnaphthalide were 2-amino-l-nitro-, 2-amino-8-nitro-and 2-amino-5-nitronaphthalene. Veself and Jakes2 studied the reaction and were unable to find any trace of the 2, 5-isomer, but obtained 2- amino-6-nitronaphthalene.
