Abstract

Abstract A range of substituted tetrahydroquinolines have been synthesized from benzotriazole derivatives and unactivated alkenes in the presence of a Lewis acid. These reactions utilize readily available starting materials and mild reaction conditions, and give high yields. The reaction mechanisms are discussed.
