Abstract
Five new pyrethrin-type esters were synthesized in seeking compounds of high insecticidal activity and in studying the effect of aryl side chains in the methylcyclooentenolone portions of the molecule. The esters prepared from phenyland benzyl-substituted methylcyclopentenolones and dl-chrysanthemic acid were of the same order of toxicity as natural pyrethrins.
