Abstract
Abstract A remarkable substituent effect is described for the thermal transformation of three butenynyl nitrones into pyrrole and pyridine derivatives. The results are best explained by assuming oxaza-cycloallenes, cyclopropenes, and, most importantly, carbonyl carbenes as intermediates.
