Abstract
N-Pentamethylene-S-triarylmethyl-dithio-urethans dissociate spontaneously, in solution, with the formation of triarylmethyls; the latter were isolated in the form of their characteristic peroxides1 It has now been found that triphenylmethyl disulfide also dissociates spontaneously, in solution, at ordinary temperature with the formation of triphenylmethyl; thus, when the colorless disulfide is dissolved in benzene the solution, colorless at first, ...
