Abstract

Comparison of the activities of analogs of dithiazinine (111) against gsstrointest, inal nemzto- lea of sheep showed that the pentamethine chain is essential. Activity may be retzined when the 6 position is sitbstitritel with alkyl or alkoxy groups, but substitution with electron- withdrawing groups produces inactjive conpoitii. ls. ilnalogs with activity comparable to dithiazinine tended to be more toxic to mice than dithiazina itsdf.
