Abstract
9 10 11 of CsF. 12 The effect of CsF-catalyzed methylation was evident when the methylation was repeated in benzene in the presence of 1 equiv of CsF. The reaction was completed within 3 h to give 4 in 63% yield. However, in this case, it was found that the CsF- catalyzed N3-methylation also occurred competitively.
