Abstract
Allyl or alloxycarbonyl groups have been frequently used as suitable protecting groups for acids, alcohols, and amines in the synthesis of carbohydrates, 1 peptides, 2 nucleotides, 3 and other natural products. 4 It is known that the cleavage of the allyl groups is accomplished by palladium-catalyzed reaction with a carboxylic acid as an allyl scavenger that attacks the allyl group, forming the π allylpalladium complex. 5 Although several ...
