Abstract

An exceptionally stereoselective and general synthesis of (Z)-α-haloacrylates, ready to undergo various synthetic transformations, has been demonstrated from α-haloacetates and aldehydes in a one-pot manner via the titanium-enolate based asymmetric aldol condensation.
