Abstract
Hexabromoacetone, and all eight possible bromochloroperhaloacetones, have been prepared by the bromination of acetone, and of the corresponding chloroacetones, respectively, in acetic acid in the presence of sodium acetate. Several of these have also been made by treatment of fluorochloroperhaloacetones with aluminium bromide, but hexachloroacetone with aluminum bromide gave mixtures. The ketones were converted to ...
