Abstract
During the course of other studies in our laboratory, we wished to prepare a 1-Me-histidine (1-Me-His-OH). The synthesis of 1-Me-His-OH (in 3 steps from 1a) has been described by Jain and Cohen,(4a) and involves the reaction of His-OMe·2HCl (1a) with carbonyldiimidazole (CDI) in DMF as an initial step.
