Abstract
The Garner aldehyde-derived methylene alkene 5 and the corresponding benzyloxycarbonyl compound 25 undergo hydroboration with 9-BBN-H followed by palladium-catalyzed Suzuki coupling reactions with aryl and vinyl halides.
