Abstract
Method A involved reaction between a heteroaryl organolithium reagent and phosphorous trichloride; method B involved the reaction between a 2-(trimethylsily1)-substituted heteroaromatic and a phosphorous (111) halide.* From ref 9. The requisite organolithium reagent was prepared by metal-halogen exchange between 2-bromothiazole and n-BuLi. 2- Lithiothiazole was prepared by metalation of thiazole with n-BuLi.
