Abstract

Abstract A new method for the 1, 1'-binaphthalene-2, 2'-diol and 1, 1'-binaphthyl-2, 2'- dialkylether by CuCl2 and FeCl3 under solid-state condition and ionic liquid is described. The stereo selectively coupling of 2-naphthol by CuCl2 and FeCl3 in presence of optically active amino acid is also studied. The optically purity of (S)-binaphthalene-2, 2'-diol in the presence of L-2-phenylglycine by FeCl3· H2O in solid state and ionic liquid is 41 and 96% ...
