Abstract

Introduction It has been reported by Heidrich'that l-methyl-2-vinylpiperidine polymerizes on distillation or on standing for several months at room temperature. Since it is known that allylic amines, to which the 2-vinylpiperidines are formally similar, do not homopolymerize readily, it appeared of interest to prepare some of the vinylpiperidines and study their polymerization tendencies.
