Abstract
Chemistry.-The amines n ere prepared by the condensation of nitroethane n ith the corresponding aldehyde folloned by LiAlH, reduction of the resulting phenylnitropropene. S o attempt was made to purify the intermediate phenylnitropropenes. The aldehyde required for the preparation of 4 was obtained from 3-methoxy-p-toluic acid.
