Abstract: Ultraviolet irradiation of 1, 3-butadiene and a-acetoxyacrylonitrile in the presence of triplet sensitizers gave cis-and trans-l-cyano-2-vinylcycl0but~ l acetate, 1-cyano-3- cyclohexen-1-yl acetate, cis-and truns-l, 2-divinylcyclobutane, and 4-vinylcyclohexene in high yield at low conversions (ca. 10-20%).
