Abstract

Abstract A series of benzanilide compounds were synthesized through copper-catalyzed tandem reactions. With the assistance of ionic liquid as phase transfer catalyst, aryl halides, and nitriles underwent a hydrolysis/coupling pathway to form benzanilides in water.
