Abstract

By the interaction of methyl 2-(p-anisidino)-nicotinate [2] with hydrazine hydrate, the hydrazide of this acid was obtained, which during heating in alcohol with aldehydes or ketones forms the corresponding hydrazide derivatives with good yields, and forms the p- toluenesulfanil hydrazide of 2-(p-anisidino), nicotinic acid with p-toluenesulfochloride in pyridine.
