Abstract

Method G.-To a soln of 39.6 g of 2-methylimidazo [l, 2-a] pyri-dine (0.3 mole) in 120 ml of CSt was added, very slowly, 90 g of arthyd AlC13, with external cooling. After stirring for 30 min at room temp the mixture\-as refluxed gently and 22.5 ml of Act0 was added drop by drop, in 30 min. After refluxing for 1 hr, the CS, was evapd and the residue mixed wit'h crushed ice, made alkaline with NaOH, and extracted with CHtC12. The soln was dried (K2COO) and ...
