Abstract
To perform iodination of hydroxyl groups, several methods have been described using a variety of reagent systems such as BF 3 –Et 2 O/NaI, 7 P 4 /I 2 , 8 Cl 2 SO–DMF/KI, 9 MgI 2 , 10 HI, 11 ClSiMe 3 /NaI, 12 R 3 PI 2 –Et 2 O, or C 6 H 6 /HMPA, 13 CeCl 3 ·7H 2 O/NaI, 14 PPh 3 /DDQ/R 4 N + X − , 15 KI/BF 3 ·Et 2 O, 16 PPh 3 /DEAD/LiI, 17 and gas-phase reactions using KI in the presence of phase-transfer catalysts, 18 and/or I 2 /petroleum ether. 19 NaI/ ...
