Abstract
Results Reactions were carried out. on a scale of 50 mmol of GeC1, in an autoclave at temperatures over 180 OC, generally 200" C, in the presence of 3-5 mol% of AlBr,. Organogermanium and silicon bromides were not detected in appreciable amounts after the reaction. Although A1Cl3 in similar proportions gave similar results, we are reporting only attempts with A1Br3 as it led to a much faster reaction, perhaps because of its good ...
