Abstract

A number of NCN pincer Pt and Pd complexes incorporating various isomeric hydroxy-and mercaptopyridine ligands have been synthesized via a silver-free halide abstraction methodology. By X-ray crystallography, we found that the hydroxypyridines are exclusively N- bound to the metal centers, whereas mercaptopyridines exhibit only MS linkages.
