Abstract
In connection with some of the work carried on in this Laboratory3 it was found necessary to prepare acetylenic ketones of the. type RC= C-CO-CH3. The principal method reported in the literature consists in treating the sodium salt of an acetylenic hydrocarbon with an acyl halideO4 This method was found to be unsatisfactory from the point of view both of yields and quality of products since traces of halogen were always present in the resulting ...
